Darshan (Cammi Vance) has been performing bellydance and loving it since 1991. She has performed hundreds of venues around the country, with scores of live bands, both as a soloist and with the Portland, Oregon based award-winning troupe Gypsy Caravan. She has studied bellydance and its myriad infusions with dozens of great instructors, and has developed her own dynamic and versatile expression. Her teaching style focuses on deeply and creatively engaging the body in the pleasure and technique of the dance. Having relocated recently from Portland to join the Dalia Carella Dance Collective in an off-Broadway show, In Search of a Goddess, playing at the Duke in June 2004 (www.insearchofagoddess.com), Darshan is already in demand as a New York performer.
